The Skopje Technology Park “STP” will be built close to the center of Skopje, with the exact location negotiated with the government to be on land close by to the land that was taken from the Vidakovic family after World War II. With strong support from the leadership of the country to make STP a technology center for the Balkans we mobilized the interest of large technology partners especially from the United States and the European Union. The leadership/principals of STP include former Cisco VP for emerging markets, head of Rothschild Middle East, senior directors with McKinsey, Deloitte and advisors to wealthy families.
STP will also provide to its strategic partners additional investment opportunities in €200 million - €1 billion+ of related projects i.e. building a large data center; at Euro 0.056 per kWh Macedonia has Europe’s lowest industrial electricity cost. Also, close to the main airport STP will have an associate free zone area for larger facilities (i.e. manufacturing).
STP’s target clients / partners are global technology companies, entrepreneurs and tech investors to use North Macedonia as a regional base. Other reasons to set up base in Skopje include: tax, tariffs and VAT advantages to operate regional headquarters for either the Balkans or the European Union of which N. Macedonia is expected to be its next member and thus also has access to multiple EU funds. In addition Skopje has a skilled workforce, pleasant climate, low crime.
We are considering various options of cooperation with prospective strategic and financial partners to be involved on the STP project: financial partners, universities, a developer or/and an EPC company of Mixed Use Developments (MUD) / smart city projects.
